NWP put on the short list for Canada’s Safest Employer Competition

I recently decided to nominate NWP in the Canadian Occupational Safety magazine’s competition for Canada’s Safest Employer. They asked a number of questions on the submission looking at overall Health & Safety Stats, program support and then a statement of why I felt we were one of Canada’s Safest Employers.

As an HSE Professional I have worked in several varied sectors and never before, have I encountered a safety culture that matches NWP Industries! I enjoyed almost immediate “buy in” from the Supervisory staff that was followed by the floor staff almost as fast. The most amazing thing I encountered, for a company this size, was the support of management in developing a very proactive health and safety rapport with all levels of staff and the ability to innovate and build the program right from the start.

I was not altogether surprised when I got a call from Canadian Occupational Safety yesterday telling me we had made the short list on the strength of our submission. I was extremely happy that someone else shared my opinion about this company!! The statistics I submitted spoke volumes as currently we outperform a good number of our industry peers when it comes to keeping our employees safe!

We have now entered into the second phase of judging and I am very proud to be associated with such a strong group of individuals that support and promote working safe! It’s our Management and Staff as a whole that got us here.

Employment Recruitment Breakfast

On Tuesday May 17 NWP held a Recruitment Breakfast for people looking to join our team. We feel that the event was a success and had a quality turn out. This event gave the Management Team and a select group of employees the opportunity to interact with the attendee in a more personal and informal way indicative of the daily work environment. Alot of effort has been put into build a solid team at NWP recently and this is just one of the ways we are looking to strengthen and enhance our team.
